Iran ‘Blue Eyed Boy’ wins at Syria festival

Iranian short film ‘Blue Eyed Boy’ wins award at the Steps International Short Film Festival in Syria.

Directed by Amir Masoud Soheili, ‘Blue Eyed Boy’ narrates the story of a boy who sees the whole world in blue. His family thinks this may have a bad effect on the boy’s life, thus trying remedies on superstition to cure him.

The short deals with the idea of individualism and the struggle with the traditional family to accept the boy’s unique perception of the world.

Soheili has directed so many award-winning short films, including ‘Blue Eyed Boy’ which has won awards in national as well as international festivals and was listed among the top short movies of the world.

Among its successes, ‘Blue Eyed Boy’ has grabbed the best cinematography award at the 2015 Unprecedented Cinema International Short Film Festival in Estonia. It also received the Honorable Mention award at the Avanca 2015 Film Festival in Portugal.

Steps International Short Films Festival concentrates on promoting short, feature, documentary, experimental and animated movies from around the world.
